project in two parts by\u00a0nikos veliotis:<\/p><p>part 1 &#8211;\u00a0<strong>recording<\/strong>: The sonic range of the\u00a0<strong>cello<\/strong>\u00a0was divided into\u00a0<strong>100 quarter tones<\/strong>. Every quarter tone was recorded for\u00a0<strong>one hour<\/strong>. During this hour volume and timbre changed [from soft to very loud plus pure tone to noise and back]. The sonic result e.g.\u00a0<strong>100 one hour drones<\/strong>\u00a0was mixed into one audio file called\u00a0<strong>\u201cthe complete works for cello\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and pressed onto a 100 cds.<\/p><p>part 2 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>performance<\/strong>: The cello used in the recording\u00a0<strong>was destroyed<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>[turned into powder]<\/strong>\u00a0in front of a live audience while \u201cthe complete works for cello\u201d was played back through speakers. The\u00a0<strong>powder<\/strong>\u00a0was used to fill\u00a0<strong>jars of approximately 250ml<\/strong>\u00a0labeled, numbered and sealed. The performance took place during the 2009\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arika.org.uk\/\">INSTAL<\/a>\u00a0festival in Glasgow on March
